Dissertation AbstractThe Fusion of Astronomical Alignments with Sacred Geometry in Design of Sacred Architecture
Ogburn, Scott A 2014 Scott.Ogburn.com School of Architecture, Atlantic International University (United States), 350 pp. An Inquiry into the Fusion of Principles of Astronomical Alignments
with Principles of Sacred Geometry in the Design Process of Sacred Architecture. Using Architecture students in Foundation Studio, the first two years of Architecture School, to do actual Design Projects in Design Studio on the computer in 2D and 3D with photo realistic renderings of two original Design Studio Projects created by Adjunct Assistant Professor Scott A. Ogburn, "Re-Designing Stonehenge" and "Object in the City, Transforming Platonic Solids", to demonstrate the unique creativity of these Design Studio Projects given the parameters of using Sacred Geometry and Astronomical Alignments in the Design Process of these Architecture Studio Design Projects. Also included in this Ph.D. Dissertation is a History of unique examples of Sacred Architecture from ancient civilizations that have used Both Principles of Astronomical Alignments with Principles of Sacred Geometry in their Design Process as a number of examples of Sacred Architecture using Both of these Principles. |
